The Way I See It

An American woman's views on current and social topics.

My Broken Record

I just cannot understand how the message that President Trump is giving to the country gets so twisted and misunderstood out of pure hatred for the man himself.

Why is it so hard for people to understand how different and changed the world has become since the growth of terrorism worldwide?  The threat from people who hate America and want to undermine her economically as well as her ideology is real and is played out the world over.

All immigrants and refugees are welcome to come here after there is proof they want to be here and will assimilate.  This policy has been relaxed over the past decade and is the root cause of all the terrible issues and arguments presently being played out in our current political environment. Immigrants and refugees come here and expect consistent hand outs while not having any intention of spending the money they receive in our economy, but instead send our money back to their own country of origin.  Those who get jobs do the same thing.  Americans are suffering from unemployment, lay offs and no offers of pension options in their own country. More and more illegals and non citizens are getting their jobs because they will work for lower wages and no benefits. This is not the way America will survive.  Immigrants and refugees who assimilate and contribute to the American way of life and its’ economy are more than welcome with open arms, an initial helping hand and the red carpet treatment because they will become a fellow American.  However, I see more and more non assimilation than ever before in my history in this land. I walk down a Main Avenue in any street in my state of New York and I am lucky to be able to read one name of a store because it is not written in English.  When I walk into the store to see what they sell, the people working the store have no idea what I am saying because they don’t understand English and I don’t understand their language  because I live here all my life and only understand English.  How can this make a better America?  How long will it be before so many of these non assimilating, non English speaking neighborhoods totally destroy the common bond that we all need to feel connected under one flag?  What happened to the pride we need to have in our country in order to have it prosper?

It is my belief that President Trump recognizes these issues.  I believe that he believes America needs to help Americans from whatever country they come from as long as they truly want to be an American.  He has enormous responsibilities on his plate as did all former Presidents.  He decided that despite his political weaknesses and despite the obstacles he knows exists, he would still take on this important position in order to get America back on course.  This is why he said,”Put America First and make her great again”.  As an American I cannot understand my fellow Americans in both my circle of family and friends who do not see this very important point.  You do not have to like a man in order to respect the office he represents.  One thing has nothing to do with the other.

It will take time to reverse the path that was slowly killing America.  Much like a debilitating disease that eats away at the body slowly, draining America of all she is, all she has and all she can offer is the same.  The current Administration has been challenged with righting the wrong that has been done and it needs the time, the space and the learning (as they go) experience to get it done.  This current administration is simply not part of the status quo.  They are not fully politically connected nor should they have to be.

The Democratic Party is deliberately hindering the governing of our country out of personal hatred for the current Administration. I do not recall this level of hated disruptions of this caliber when the Republicans who hated President Obama were attending session hearings and voting on an Administrative cabinet.  They are doing a horrendous dissservice to the American people.  They are adding to the animosity already brewing in our country.  They are increasing the bias and hate felt by so many misguided and even evil countrymen.  They are fueling a fight that should never be fueled.  Instead of putting aside their personal feelings of hate and their sore losing attitudes becausec a democrat did not take President Obama’s place is sickening to watch.  All it is doing for me is honing my patriotic heart in favor of a more United, fair, and realistic stance on the future of America.  The policies they are protesting and preaching are some of the same ones I myself believe,  but they are taking those sane policies and leading them so far left that it is a total distortion of what everyday folks want this country to be and President Trump understands this.  He understands that we want inclusion so that every individual American can live as they wish and practice as they wish.  He understand that every American needs jobs that are fair and plentiful.  He understands that our environment needs to be watched and taken care of so no harm comes to our air, land and water.  He understands that people who hate us need to be found out before they come into our country.  He understands that women need to have choice in their individual lives, fair pay and equal opportunities.  He understands we are a diverse race of people and our diversity needs to be fair equally and without prejudice. He knows our Veterans and law enforcement needs to be honored, respected, supported and protected when injured.    He may not have the power to make all these things come to be, but he has the inner will to promote those American ideals. He cannot begin this work to promote and initiate these ideals if the political system he must work with is undermining everything he is attempting to do with political BS.  In order to change the way the politicians run in our country he needs to revise, review, research and enact proposals of change.  If he is not allowed to do these things by the democratic left America will not survive.

The Congress men and women and the Senators need to be putting their energy, arguments and knowledge to the things that impact the constituents.  Environmental protections, health issues, veteran and military protections, jobs, rights of all CITIZENS, and all other legislative actions that will make a beneficial change that is so sorely needed in every aspect.  Stop wasting their time in petty arguments to prove they hate the President,  they are not paid to do that.  Stop fighting for non citizen refugees and undocumented aliens and instead put their work day into proposals, bills and laws that support their arguments to enact these things.  Get back to work Representatives on the business at hand : the lives of American Citizens!

And that is The Way I See It here in Brooklyn.

  1. Bravo!!! I truly believe that most people feel this way if it makes you feel any better. I sure hope our President does help. What I think is he looks at Europe, only an ocean away, with all their problems & he’s trying to prevent that from happening to us. I hear it’s really bad in Europe. I have a friend who just came back & said they can’t go anywhere without escorts, etc. It’s gotten very bad there, even England which shocked me. Let’s hope DJT was sent to us to build his wall like Nehemiah in the old Testament. God asked him to build a wall around Jerusalem, a wealthy businessman, Coincidence?
