The Way I See It

An American woman's views on current and social topics.

Running Scared

So let me start by asking each of you a question.  Remember when you started a new job? Maybe you remember getting laid off from a job and having to start over?  Maybe you just made a choice to start over in a brand new field, doing something you have never done before?  If you can remember any one of those scenarios, you will understand my reaction to the Senate hearings for the chosen candidates in the President-elect’s cabinet.  You know what I hear listening to the politicians questioning the non-polictical candidates?  Condescending attitudes screaming at me from their benches.  For me all they care about is keeping the status quo.  Sure they know all the rules and regulations that have been put into place on the Federal level.  Sure they have read everything about those rules, but they also haven’t been doing a very good job of keeping the country in check and balances.  Most of them have been doing the same job for years.  Many have no idea what their latest constituents think or feel.  Everything is beaucratic and red tape for every little dollar spent by the states.  The current political system of representatives just keep pushing the paper and expecting the entire nation to follow the rules according to what is already written.  Well I think Mr. Trump was elected because he listened to many Americans who are screaming for years that the rules that are written aren’t working!

And so the trouble begins.  The current politicians are giving such a hard time to the newcomers.  They are putting them on the hot seat during these sessions expecting these entry level candidates to be as well read into the book of rules as they are.  Why?  Isn’t an entry level position in an Administration just like any other entry level position?  With the chosen candidates comes a chance for new ideas, new visions, new revisions.  With their entry level positions on the Federal Administration level comes a chance for true change of the current political system and the rule books.  With it comes an opportunity for the country to change the status quo and the chance to fix what has been broken in the beaucratic burdens placed on states and institutions for decades.  This is the revolution of America and it is being led by  a person without a political apron string attached.  It is a chance to give people who are innovative, strong and patriotic the opportunity to take on a position, unfamiliar to them and change the way the Federal government has done things.

The current politicians know this very well.  They are running scared that perhaps after years of complacency and reading from their rule books they may need to get up and out and fix what they have broken with their “rules set in stone”.   I hear it in their voices when they question the candidates, I see it in their faces when they smirk.  Should ALL the rules and regulations be changed..HELL NO. There are some great laws in place today that give people the power to choose, the power to be who they are and not be discriminated against.  I think that Mr. Trump and the chosen candidates understand that and wouldn’t want to inflict any harm by undoing those great rules.  However, there are so many other rules and regulations that have to do with spending, taxes, Education of the masses, and even health that need to be revised.  There are rules in place right now about much of what makes it easy for the systems to be cheated and fraudelent.  Mr. Trump himself should know that because he was a entrepreneur in business who used many of them, like other folks too, because they were allowed to use them.  Morally, he should not have, but legistically they have all done it including those sitting on that bench during the confirmation hearings.

Perhaps these new entry level folks know it, too and that is the very reason they accepted the candidacy from Mr. Trump because they want those rules to change.  They want to start over.  They want to revise, fix, and inject new ideas and visions into the current rule books.  Just like a person either starting out on a new job or perhaps starting over a career in a new job they need to have time to learn what the rules are, what they actually mean and what can be done to them to make them better and perhaps different so they benefit every American from every walk of life in every field.  Sitting on a hot seat in a hearing room with condescending attitudes will not make me judge them on their merits or on their knowledge.  All it does is infuse my need for revolutionary changes that will make this country better, stronger and prouder.   I am banking on the newcomers to do just that.  I am hoping they learn, they fix, they revolutionize the way politics work on the Federal level. My hope is on a future for America set into motion by the election of Donald J. Trump and the people he has chosen to help him do just that.

Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing
Praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight
Mine is the morning
Born of the one light Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise ev’ry morning
God’s recreation of the new day

Morning has broken

(Although the hymn is akin with religious beliefs,  I see its implication being applied to all those with hope).

And that is the Way I See It here in Brooklyn.

  1. loved your article.  Every time I rate it or make a statement about it they want me to sign in & for some reason I’m never recognized.  I give up trying to sign in.  So true the way they question them but Trump put up the CEO of Exxon who’s been running that company which is all over the world.  He’s put up people that can handle these guys.  The democrats are stalling because they don’t want to see Trump have his team although the new President seems to be doing just fine without them. Now they’re going on a “retreat” which I can’t believe.  They just came back from vacation.  Looks like they wont’be working until next week.  Obama had 14 of his team by now.  Trump only has 3, that’s kind of sad.  They’re keeping Trump’s cabinet room empty but eventually they’ll have to approve them.  Great article, you should have been a writer for the press, you would have seen both sides. :)xxoo, Pattie

  2. loved this article on Trump. The reason they’re acting so bad is they’re guilty of stalling. It’s terrible the way each party treats each other. I just wish they’d all have term limits. 2 terms, 8 years & you’re gone. That’s the way our Founders wanted it.
